THE REGISTRATION FEE INCLUDES ALL SUMMER SCHOOL ACTIVITIES, FULL BOARD ACCOMMODATION AT MONTE BARRO HOSTEL
The B-YOUth Summer School aims to critically explore young people’s participation in decision-making processes, considering the multiple ways in which they develop their own sense of agency in everyday life. Investigating the ways and the contexts in which possibilities to be “active agents” within society are shaped is – we believe – a key to understanding how young people can act in order to make the changes we need to create more just and inclusive societies.
Undeniably, fostering the active involvement of young people in decisions about the future of our societies represents a fundamental cornerstone when we are committed to reimagining a more sustainable and inclusive world, where inclusion and participation become real and everyone has the freedom to act on the basis of what they truly value.
The B-YOUth Summer School will be an exciting opportunity for young researchers to reflect on the emerging theoretical perspectives on the debates concerning democracy, participation, and inclusion.
It will offer an international and interdisciplinary training programme for PhD students and early-career academics, with the goal to enhance knowledge on themes related to these topics through lectures, seminars and group-work sessions led by scholars of national and international standing. It aims also to create an environment conducive to critical thinking and methodological discussion and to support exchange opportunities as well as the creation of new research networks.
MONTE BARRO REGIONAL PARK (COMO LAKE) - All lectures and activities will take place at the Hostel Parco del Monte Barro. From here you can enjoy the beauties of this Regional Natural Park, with breathtaking views over Lake Como and the surrounding mountains and lakes of the Brianza.
